After seeing and helping my parents downsize to an apartment, I saw there was a need for a company to help with much of the difficult work that comes with such a transition. I want to help people through similar life situation changes. My aim is to alleviate some of the stress that comes with these transitions. My ReFound Estate Sales & Downsizing Services team will provide effective, efficient and caring client service.
Another aspect of this business is saving items from filling up our landfills. Treasure and bargain hunters come to ReFound's sales and take previously enjoyed items away to be enjoyed some more. Essentially, we help to find a new home for items which benefits both buyer and seller.
Although we work with estate and content sale clients to determine the best action plan, the best part of the plan is that we do the work FOR them. We at ReFound take great pride and satisfaction in doing the work to provide a profitable and stress free sale for clients.

The ReFound Furniture & More division of the business is pure enjoyment! Finding interesting items and then finding a new home for those pieces through ReFound is fun and rewarding. Transforming some pieces into items that will be appreciated and enjoyed for more years to come keeps me interested in discovering new ways to refresh pieces. The next owner can then say that they "ReFound" a cool item. Hence the company name choice. Follow along: Someone finds a piece and enjoys it...we then find it when they are finished with it and we refresh it...then someone else finds it again at our store...that item has been ReFound a few times.
My wife, Natalie, and I live in Dartmouth along with Lucy, a chocolate lab.

Hello. My name is Mike McKenna and I am the owner and president of ReFound Inc.
I began my working years as a sales consultant in the automotive retail business. Quickly discovering and displaying an aptitude for sales, I moved into management at a young age. Ensuring that my team provided an excellent customer experience is what I most enjoyed and what motivated me. After several years as the sales manager for local car dealerships, I decided to return to university to pursue a life long interest in education.
I obtained a Bachelor of Education and I have spent the last ten years as a teacher with the Halifax Regional School Board. Most of that time was as a Special Education teacher at Dartmouth High School. The years I spent working with students with intellectual disabilities was amazing. I was fortunate to have such an experience as I learned so much more from them than they learned from me. I do miss the students and the great people I worked with, but I made a decision to turn my attention to providing help and service in the community in a different way.
